1867 – Methodist Church opened, first sod turned for Railway

Methodist Church WestburyOn 15th January, the first sod is burned by the Duke of Edinburgh for the construction of the Launceston and Western Railway, which is to run between Launceston and Deloraine. The Methodist Church is completed and opened on March 17th.
